An open letter to the U.S. House of Representatives

Please Vote Yes on the MORE Act

14 so far! Let’s get to 25 signers!

Congress will be voting on the MORE Act in a month, which would work toward decriminalizing marijuana. Research & polls show that the public is in favor of legalizing marijuana, with an overwhelming majority supporting it. Pew Research Center finds that 55% of republicans support it. “Meanwhile, an overwhelming majority of U.S. adults (91%) say marijuana should be legal either for medical and recreational use (59%) or that it should be legal just for medical use (32%). Fewer than one-in-ten (8%) prefer to keep marijuana illegal in all circumstances, according to the survey, conducted Sept. 3 to 15 on Pew Research Center’s American Trends Panel.” This is a bipartisan issue. For once, an issue that many Americans, regardless of party, agree on. Furthermore, over 50 current, former law enforcement professionals signed a letter last year urging Congress to decriminalize marijuana. Why? Because it can improve police/community relations, allow law enforcement to redirect resources toward the opioid epidemic and violent crime, and reduce non-violent offenders in prison. Please vote yes for this bipartisan issue.
