To the Governor's Office,
I cannot fathom how we are even considering re-opening the state. Can you please explain to me how someone can get their nails or hair done while maintaining the safe distance of six feet? Has no one explained to this office how “flattening the curve” works? If the number goes down, it means we are doing better but not that we are safe. I wouldn’t be surprised that this office is not familiar with that considering Governor Kemp expresses that “he did not know” that the disease could be transmitted by people who were not yet showing symptoms MONTHS after the rest of the country had this information. I would, perhaps, suggest getting an informed expert to advise your office. Maybe it could be someone from the CDC! A quick google search indicates that it’s only 20 minutes away from the governor's mansion. It may be worth the drive. Until we get consistent reporting, INCLUDING WEEKENDS (which are currently being reported in far less numbers) and testing centers available for all, we have NO idea how prevalent COVID-19 is in Georgia.
I know the chances of anyone reading this (especially in a timely manner) is slim to none, but if you only read this last paragraph this is the take home message:
A dollar is not worth more than people’s lives and if you do this I will personally go out on the campaign trail next year and try my damndest to make sure that you do not get re-elevated for the atrocious mishandling of this pandemic.
