Investigate Forced Hysterectomies in ICE Detention

1,485 so far! Let’s get to 2,000 signers!

I'm sure by now you are aware of the whistleblower complaint that alleges that the Irwin County Detention Center in Ocilla, Georgia is performing a staggering number of hysterectomies on immigrant women, as well as failing to follow procedures meant to keep both detainees and employees safe from the coronavirus. These accusations, if true, are horrific. Congress needs to investigate and intervene at once.   This is another clear reason that Congress needs to move quickly to pass Rep Jayapal's Dignity for Detained Immigrants Act, which ends private facilities for good. It also repeals mandatory detention while restoring due process, oversight, accountability, and transparency. The way we're treating detainees is sickening, and Congress has the power to stop it. Thanks.
