An open letter to State Governors & Legislatures Ohio’s 2020 Primary Election
8 so far! Let’s get to 10 signers! There is no perfect way to conduct an election during a global pandemic, but I have grave concerns about the direction the Ohio General Assembly is going, regarding finalizing Ohio's primary date.
- It is not logistically feasible to conduct a vote-by-mail program by April 28. At the earliest, the primary should be mid-May.
- Ohio must extend the registration deadline to 30 days before the Primary to comply with federal and state law.
- Ohio must send absentee requests to all who have not voted, prepay voters' postage for absentee requests & ballots, and mount a public education campaign.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
