Urgent - Stop the militarization of the police!

I am writing to you as a constituent to ask you to support HR 1714, the Stop Militarizing Law Enforcement Act. Police departments should not have access to military weaponry to repress and intimidate the people they are meant to serve and protect. Flash bang grenades and internationally banned chemicals such as tear gas, long range acoustic devices, and tanks have no place in our communities. I am asking that these funds instead be used to invest in education, environmental protection, and public health. Thank you.
