An open letter to the U.S. Congress Affordable housing as part of the HEROES act
15 so far! Let’s get to 25 signers! Everyone in America should have affordable housing. Housing prices do not need to go up when so many are suffering from unemployment and health problems during this pandemic.
Essential workers deserve hazard pay. They deserve thanks for putting their lives on the line to support everyone during the pandemic. What's more, EVERY essential worker who went to their job during this crisis should be rewarded with a GUARANTEE that affordable housing will be theirs. However much they were paid during the pandemic, that normal paycheck amount, must be enough to pay for a nice home within forty percent of their monthly budget. Guaranteed home reduction prices for the next seventy years for every essential worker who went to work, who risked their lives, over the last few months. That is a way to say thank you. Most essential workers already had a letter they had to carry stating they are essential and thus allowed to travel during the lockdown. That letter should dramatically drop home prices and interest rates for everyone who had one.
That's how the HEROES ACT could help the essential workers, the real heroes of this pandemic. Everyone should want these brave people as neighbors.
