An open letter to State Governors

We need reform on police use of force!

7 so far! Let’s get to 10 signers!

I urge you and Attorney General Dave Yost to demand our city and state police agencies to enact policies that have been shown to reduce officer-involved violence and killing. These policies include banning chokeholds, strangleholds, hog tying, and transporting people face down in a vehicle. These policies also include banning using force on a person for talking back or as punishment for running away. These policies also include REQUIRING officers to intervene and stop other officers who are using excessive force and report them to a supervisor. It is clear our current system is racially biased and causing the unnecessary death of members of our community such as John Crawford in Beavercreek, OH. I demand our state work to reduce police violence through policy change.
