DO NOT CONFIRM AMY CONEY BARRETT TO THE SCOTUS

Please do not confirm Amy Coney Barrett to the Supreme Court. If confirmed, the rights of LGBTQ+ Americans and access reproductive healthcare will be in danger. To quote the Human Rights Campaign: “She defended the Supreme Court’s dissenters on the landmark marriage equality case of Obergefell v. Hodges, questioning the role of the court in deciding the case. She said Title IX protections do not extend to transgender Americans, claiming it’s a “strain on the text” to reach that interpretation.” Additionally, “Coney Barrett has also consistently demonstrated opposition to reproductive rights, calling Roe v. Wade an “erroneous decision.”” On top of these issues related to LGBTQ+ American and reproductive health, the Human Rights campaign points out the following: “She also refused to rehear a racial segregation case, raising significant concerns about her approach to Civil Rights law.” Her confirmation will put many Americans at risk. Please do not let this happen.
