An open letter to the U.S. Senate VOTE AGAINST A SUPREME COURT NOMINATION UNTIL AFTER INAUGURATION DAY IN 2021
8 so far! Let’s get to 10 signers! Please vote against a Supreme Court nomination until after Inauguration Day in January 2021.
Please allow the American people and the newly appointed president to make this decision, as the precedent was set 4 years ago when Justice Scalia passed, and the senate sat around seemingly doing nothing for 11 months at the end of Obama’s presidency, even though he had a candidate that was favorable to both parties.
Lindsay Graham said to literally use his words against him, so I fully invite you to do so. He said, verbatim: “I want you to use my words against me. If there’s a republican president in 2016 and a vacancy occurs in the last year of the first term, you can say Lindsay Graham said let’s let the next president, whoever it might be, make that nomination.”
Please, please do not let this happen to our country. Do not let Trump and his henchmen (look, at this point, they’re henchmen. No other way of looking at it) make this decision. If they do, our country will likely fall apart even more so than it already is under this unintelligent, racist, sexist, homophobic, and quite frankly embarrassing administration.
Another Trump appointed Justice will mean a major step backward for our country. Brett Kavanaugh was already enough of an abomination that happened to our country’s highest court. Do we really need another garbage person appointed? No. We really, really don’t.
So again, to summarize, please VOTE AGAINST A SUPREME COURT NOMINATION UNTIL AFTER INAUGURATION DAY IN JANUARY 2021.
Do whatever you have to do to swing votes in our favor. If there’s someone on the fence, BRING THEM OVER. It’s time to go on the offensive.
We’re in the endgame, now. Don’t mess this up, please.
Thank you.
Sincerely,
Me, and many, many other people who are TIRED OF THIS CRAP.
