An open letter to the U.S. Congress

Please Endorse the Ending Qualified Immunity Act

8 so far! Let’s get to 10 signers!

I am a constituent in your district, and I have an urgent concern for the manner in which our community is exercising and addressing its needs to you. The immoral imposition of the law by armed police forces in this country, and most certainly by LAPD, is reason to reform all historic legislation that was created to enforce racist violence. One piece of legislation being Qualified Immunity, which was created for the protection of white supremacy against the people’s assertion of their right to not be maltreated by police. As your fellow Congressmembers, Rep. Justin Amash and Rep. Ayanna Pressley, have introduced the Ending Qualified Immunity Act, it is crucial for you to fully support and even co-sponsor. It is my duty to demonstrate my concerns on behalf of my community just as much as it is your duty to address these concerns to Congress with the intent to make changes. Rep. Brad Sherman — As a representative for our district to Congress, your support for this bill is imperative to fulfill your role in carrying out the purpose of government. Therefore, I urge you to endorse this bill. I hope this letter finds you all well, and also better portrays the 30th district of California as advocates for human rights, especially in the face of racial injustices. Thank you for your time and consideration as you work towards the improved wellbeing of your constituents.
