An open letter to State Governors & Legislatures Provide aid to dependants with incomes
34 so far! Let’s get to 50 signers! I am a 22 year old college student who has just lost her job, and therefore my only source of income, due to the virus. My parents claim me as a dependent, but I still have to pay for my own food, gas, bills, and school-related items, just to name a few. Because I'm claimed as a dependent, I won't be getting any financial help from the stimulus bill for COVID-19 aid. Not being included in the stimulus was one of the most devastating things I've heard recently. How can you rationalize not giving money to one of the poorest populations, to one of the populations that needs it most? I am terrified, and my government, whom I should be able to trust, isn't doing anything to aid me. I applaud you for this stimulus bill and for helping your people, but there are other groups of people who need just as much help. I ask you to consider giving financial help to dependants who have a source of
income. To be thrown aside by the leaders who were chosen by the people, to lead and protect, has been a heartbreaking and callous experience. Please take action to provide us with the financial aid we need right now, so that ALL groups of people can hopefully get through this horrific and treacherous time in our great country.
