An open letter to the U.S. Senate

Stop Supressing Votes By Fear & Fake News.

18 so far! Let’s get to 25 signers!

It’s come to my attention that the new COVID-19 relief bill put forward by Mitch McConnell in the Senate does not include a single cent in funding to pandemic-proof our elections ahead of November. As your constituent, this deeply concerns me. I know I don’t need to remind you that this is one of the most consequential elections of our lifetime -- and every single voter should be able to cast a ballot without fearing for their health. We need election assistance funding for states so that they can expand online voter registration, vote-by-mail, and early voting, keep polling places open, and take other measures to enhance our ability to vote during a pandemic. The House passed $4 billion total in election assistance funding, and I am asking the Senate to follow suit. Now is the time to allocate funding to protect voters like me. Nothing less than our democracy is on the line. Sincerely,
