Reject the Lawful Access to Encrypted Data Act

52 so far! Let’s get to 100 signers!

I am writing to express my opposition to the Lawful Access to Encrypted Data act. Privacy is essential to personal autonomy and a free democratic society. This act would undermine this, forcing companies to cripple their security, safety, and consumer protection efforts. Law enforcement may be frustrated by encryption, but the fourth amendment and privacy protections are not required or intended to be convenient. We are all safer, freer, and more secure without this act.
