Black Lives Matter

14 so far! Let’s get to 25 signers!

Please work to enact legislation that protects the lives of Black Americans in Pennsylvania by ensuring police receive proper de-escalation training and do not use funds for inciting violence on civilians (tear gas, physical altercations, rubber bullets). Police are supposed to serve and protect the civilians who pay their salary, and many of them aren’t even wearing face masks during mass protests amid a pandemic. Covering up their badge numbers should be prohibited and punished as well. The reality is that the police are proving they exist primarily as a system for ensuring inequality by suppressing social movements and disproportionately managing poor and non-white civilians. This absolutely must change and I am calling on those in power to enact it.
