As one of your constituents, I urge you, in the strongest possible terms, to vote to CONVICT former President Trump for incitement of the violent, destructive actions that occurred January 6th, and further to prevent him from ever again holding public office.
Mr. Trump incited the actions of the mob he called to Washington. He knew his supporters had a propensity to violence, as has been demonstrated. He timed his speech and sent his mob to the Capitol to carry out actions that, from his supporters' past activities, he knew would likely result in violence and destruction.
Trump’s inaction during the riot is telling in two ways. First, his silence means he was getting what he wanted. His failure to act to protect the Capitol during the violent and homicidal mob action shows that he approved the actions of his mob. Second, when Mr. Trump finally DID - hours after the riot began - send a message to his mob to stand down, the protestors complied with his command.
Your vote is your legacy. You must vote to CONVICT to send a clear message that Mr. Trump’s actions to incite the mob he had gathered and his inaction showing his approval of their actions is unacceptable and will not be tolerated in this country. History and your constituents are watching.
