An open letter to State Legislatures (MA only)

Urge MA Legislators to Support Bill SD.699

27 so far! Let’s get to 50 signers!

Dear MA Legislator, As a constituent, I am writing to urge you to cosponsor the COVID-19 Vaccine Equity Act (Bill SD.699). The COVID-19 Vaccine Equity Act aims to improve Massachusetts’ COVID-19 vaccination rollout response and increase vaccine delivery in communities disproportionately affected by the coronavirus pandemic. Despite Massachusetts’ reputation as a leader in health care, our state ranks in the bottom half of the nation in per-capita vaccinations. Most concerning, our state lacks a comprehensive plan to deliver vaccines to its most vulnerable communities. To date, Black and Latinx residents of Massachusetts have received the COVID-19 vaccine at far lower rates than the overall population despite the disproportionate impact on their communities. The COVID-19 Vaccine Equity Act aims to close those critical gaps and reach vaccine parity through: • Appointing an equity & outreach director • Improving outreach and communications to hard-to-reach populations • Expanding vaccine accessibility • Expanding testing availability • Increasing transparency and accountability Urgent equitable access to vaccines and testing is critical to protect the health of our most vulnerable populations, and also underpins our ability to get the pandemic under control as quickly as possible. I urge you to vote in support of Bill SD.699. In doing so, you will demonstrate your commitment to the lives and health of the Commonwealth’s residents who are at highest risk of COVID-19 and in greatest need. Sincerely,
