Support for SB 503/HB 753

20 so far! Let’s get to 25 signers!

Hello, I’m contacting you to ask that you please support SB 503/HB 753, which requires claims for reimbursements to be paid for eligible health-related services provided by LEAs in accordance with an eligible student's IEP. As a Speech-Language Pathologist in Shelby County Schools, I am directly impacted by this legislation. Currently, I not only have to work on IEP development for all of the students on my caseload, but after their IEP meetings, I also have to follow up with making sure additional forms are on file in order for the school district to receive compensation for my school-based services. This takes time away from the students I serve and increases the amount of paperwork that is required for my caseload. Therefore, I urge you to please consider supporting SB503/HB753, which requires claims for reimbursements to be paid for eligible health-related services provided by LEAs in accordance with an eligible student's IEP. This would greatly ease the pathway for reimbursement to the school district as well as ease the burden of workload on my current schedule. Thank you for your consideration.
