Inquiry proposal into MD dept. of labor’s handling of the pandemic and UI claims

18 so far! Let’s get to 25 signers!

I would like to suggest that the MD Justice Department launch an inquiry into the blatant neglect and mishandling of Maryland UI’s handling of the influx of claims as a result of the pandemic. People’s livelihoods are being ruined by this betrayal by the government body. The officials in charge of the UI department and department of labor have failed Marylanders. They spend a whole lot of time publicly patting themselves on the back about how well they think they are handling this crisis, but there are tens of thousands of Marylanders who are still unable to secure benefits to help them survive. When calling the labor department, we are met with a system that appears to make it impossible to contact anyone at the department to resolve issues with claims or get them paid out at all. This is unacceptable, especially nine months into the pandemic. It is time for an investigation into why this is happening.
