Step Up for a Peaceful Transition of Power

I urge you to use your voice & influence to ensure a peaceful and fair outcome to our presidential election. Respecting the people's right to vote is an essential element of our democracy and American freedom. The U.S. has long prided itself on the peaceful transfer of power. As the votes in battleground states are counted, and V.P. Biden appears closer to winning 270+ votes in the E.C., Pres. Trump shows no sign of upholding this election tradition. Rather he is stoking anger in his supporters with baseless claims of fraud and meritless lawsuits. Please use your voice as a Republican Senator to encourage a peaceful transition of power should Biden's election prove successful. Importantly, this must start now! We can not wait for anger and violence to overtake our country as we wait for the final count. Republican leaders must assure the American people that they will respect the people's decision even if it means having a Democratic president. It is time for you to show all your constituents - and all Americans - that your loyalty and your party's loyalty is to democracy, not Trump. Republicans' failure to lead in this moment may cost us our national security.
