Support public education

I am writing as your constituent to express my opposition to HB 1005, SB 412 and SB 413. Together these bills would expand vouchers to charter and public schools, and would even shift public tax funds to instead pay for homeschooling. Public funds should fund public schools, which serve all of our children. The data show that charter experiment of the past 15 years has failed our children. Shifting funds away from public schools is the way to damage public education further, not improve it. Please, stop draining funds away from public education, the foundation of our civil society. If we adequately fund public schools, all children get the opportunities they deserve. Please, reject HB 1005, SB 412 and SB 413 and support our public schools.
