Do not lift the mask mandate

Texas has given only 13.4% people at least one dose. This is 46th out of the 50 states by comparison and lower than the national number 15.6%. Only 7.1% of Texans are fully vaccinated. This is also lower than the National percentage (7.9%). This is not the time to open all business, and definitely not the time to remove the mask mandate given that people fully vaccinated are still expected to wear a mask per CDC guidelines. The lifting of the mask mandate completely ignores the science and causes unnecessary spread of the virus. Texas is finally able to curb the spread of the virus as the percentage of hospitalizations was less than 10%, an improvement that is sure to regress once the mandate is lifted. I urge you to not lift the mask mandate. This will be bad for Texans.
