Require conditions on corporate bailouts

9 so far! Let’s get to 10 signers!

Warren has it right that companies receiving a federal bailout have a responsibility to the public. Do not allow any bailouts that provide funds with no strings attached. We've already seen companies take federal money and use it to enrich the already wealthy shareholders and executives. We can't afford any more hoarding of wealth. Put the conditions that Warren proposed on any bailout money. These include: maintain payroll and use the funds to keep people working; provide a $15 minimum wage; set a permanent ban on stock buybacks; set a ban on paying out dividends or executive bonuses while receiving federal funds and for three years after; establish a seat for a worker on the board of directors; maintenan CBAs; require shareholder approval for all political spending; and require CEOs to certify, with criminal consequences, that the company is complying with the rules. This is a time for all of us to act in the collective interest. Just as we can't have individuals hoarding masks and hand sanitizer, we can't have companies hoarding wealth. Large companies have already, repeatedly demonstrated that without restrictions, they will hoard federal funds for the wealthy. We need those funds to go into the economy, to keep people working and keep businesses alive. Please support Warren's common-sense limitations on bailout funds.
