Covid-19 Relief Bill
As one of your constituents I am very disappointed that you went along partisan lines yet again instead of voting for the covid relief bill. You said it was stuffed full of non-COVID related spending, from partisan pet projects to Democratic Party wish list items—like a slush fund to bail out mismanaged blue states. If you had read the entire bill you would have found out it was NOT filled with pet projects and partisan wishlists. You only see what you want to see. This bill was very popular by over 70% of the American people. What don’t you understand about people needing help that aren’t wealthy like you are? I listened to the clerks reading the bill while all of you slept. This bill was definitely needed because of the pandemic. It will help schools, small businesses, vaccine testing and rollout, unemployment, stimulus checks etc. All of that has to do with covid. You had an opportunity to sign on to this bill to make it bipartisan but you chose not to. You obviously don’t care about your constituents. It appears you only want to help the wealthy. I have yet to figure out why Republicans only care about the wealthy and to hell with the middle class and poor. The GOP tax law showers benefits on the wealthy and large corporations while abandoning middle-class Americans and Main Street businesses. However, you were all in for that bill. It was a Republican Partisan bill. So don’t tell me it helped me because it didn’t. Trickle-down economics generally does not work because: ... Instead, cutting taxes for middle- and lower-income earners will drive the economy through the trickle-up phenomenon. The added income for the wealthy, resulting from tax cuts, will simply increase the growing income inequality in the United States. So save your lies and stonewalling because I don’t buy it.
