Fix International Travel Covid Testing

93 so far! Let’s get to 100 signers!

As a travel professional, I am writing to object to the blanket testing rules for all travelers heading into the US from an international destination (including US citizens returning home). Our industry has been hit hard- and this will hit us once again with no real impact on Covid cases. We know that most resort destinations have a fraction of the covid cases that the US has. It is far more likely that we are spreading to other countries than the other way around. The current guidance is unclear and causing mass confusion and cancellations- again crippling our industry. We need exemptions for those who have been vaccinated. For most of these destinations, the Covid rate is a fraction of the US. For instance, in Antigua there are a total of 2 cases per day. In Arizona, we are seeing 6000+ cases a day. Testing us to return from these destinations makes no sense, adds an undue burden on citizens, and does not make sense from a public health perspective. We cannot strand US Citizens in a foreign country. We must allow ALL US citizens to return home from travel- as all understand and take on the risks of travel. Please act now to save the travel industry from an ineffective policy.
