Please prohibit tear-gassing innocent citizens

Hi! OPB recently described Rep. Janelle Bynum's desire to enact state law restricting the use of CS gas and tear gas against peaceful protesters. (https://www.opb.org/article/2021/02/04/oregon-looks-at-ban-on-using-tear-gas-against-crowds/) During BLM and reform-the-police protest events in Portland this summer, both Portland Police and the federal stormtroopers inappropriately used tear gas downtown and in suburban neighborhoods. ICE agents continue to use it near a school in Portland's South Waterfront neighborhood. I urge you to join Rep. Bynum and co-sponsor or support her efforts to rein in these local -- and as much as possible, federal -- abuses of innocent citizens.
