I am glad that you and your staff were not physically harmed in yesterday’s attempted coup, although I’m sure that the trauma of the events will linger in your hearts and minds for years, just as it will in those of the American people. Donald J. Trump incited the mob to violence and sedition. When it became clear that the National Guard was needed to restore peace and stability, it was Vice President Pence who called them, not the Commander in Chief, proving that the President was unwilling or unable to uphold his oath to preserve, protect and defend the constitution and the institutions it empowers. He must be removed immediately. Failure to do so will surely cost additional American lives. The 25th Amendment would expedite this process and should be employed as well as Impeachment so that this dangerous traitor can never again run for office. Four Americans lost their lives yesterday and many of those defending democracy were injured, all in a matter of a few hours. Imagine how much worse it could get in two weeks. I explore you to take action now.
