An open letter to State Governors & Legislatures (MO only)

Please Vote NO on HB726

7 so far! Let’s get to 10 signers!

HB726, if passed, beginning on Jan. 1 2022, would effectively take more than $3/hour out of workers' pockets. Rather than increasing our minimum wage to $11.15/hr as the majority of MO voted, it would revert to $7.85/hr + inflationary adjustments from '06 law. What kind of cruelty is this? Missouri voters voted to raise the minimum wage to $11.15 an hour which is much less than what we wanted at $15 an hour. Someone making $11.15 an hour only makes $1,784 a month before taxes. People cannot live on that. They would still be required to have two jobs to make ends meet. This legislation which would effectively lower the minimum wage from what we voted for by $3 an hour is simply cruel. So many adults are forced to take minimum wage jobs. These are no longer jobs that only teenagers have. Please don't do this to Missourians.
