Halt Mariner East Now

29 so far! Let’s get to 50 signers!

Mariner East is the DANGEROUS transportation of highly explosive liquified byproducts of fracking through densely populated communities across Pennsylvania. We have no credible emergency plan. These liquified gasses are highly pressured. In the event of a leak, they are COLORLESS, ODORLESS & HEAVIER THAN AIR. The vapor cloud will lay low to ground and is asphyxiating. When a leak is ignited, the “BLAST ZONE” is predicted to be up to a MILE wide. The explosive gasses will take approximately 24 hours to burn off. This means first responders will have to wait up to a full day to extinguish any explosions (this has happened in other parts of the country with similar explosive products). We now have yet another sinkhole risking a catastrophic event in Chester County. “The sinkhole occurred three feet from a 12 inch line and mere inches from the 8 inch line. A visible crack in the earth had formed over the 8 inch line. Within the perimeter of the sinkhole, a tree had toppled and landed on power lines above. Several neighbors in the development said they are greatly concerned that the shifting ground will cause one of the old pipes to fracture, releasing highly explosive gases.” Please call for an immediate and permanent halt to this dangerous project that is in violation of our State Constitution.
