An open letter to State Governors & Legislatures

COVID 19 and Mariner East

19 so far! Let’s get to 25 signers!

Thank you for your leadership in the face of the COVID-19 crisis. We understand and appreciate the need to slowly reopen the Commonwealth starting on May 8th. We are confident that your data driven approach will help keep Pennsylvanians safe and healthy. As you begin to allow limited construction projects to start statewide, we ask that you please keep in mind those of us impacted by Mariner East construction. Many residents and school children will continue to stay at home as the state begins to transition to a new normal. As you know, Mariner East construction runs through many neighborhoods, where people will be trying to work and learn from home only feet from the easements. The non life-sustaining construction noise and vibrations cause mental stress, trauma and headaches, and the exhaust fumes contaminate the air they breath. We ask that you please consider these impacts on residents who are staying home for the common good. We know that an export pipeline for overseas plastics is non-essential work. Thank you
