Right the Rate for Support Coordinators

34 so far! Let’s get to 50 signers!

I am writing to voice my concern of the inequity in the NJ/Medicaid reimbursement rate for Support Coordination services. The rate of $239.81 a month is based on a Bureau of Labor Statistics for a high school education which is $17.50 per hour, yet as Support Coordinator I am required to have a four-year college degree. Additionally, there has been no cost of living adjustment in 6 years. I am asking this budget year for New Jersey to right the rate and increase the Support Coordination Service rate to $324.84 per month. This rate will allow Support Coordination agencies to pay Support Coordinators and Support Coordination Supervisors a competitive wage that is commensurate to their experience and education. This increased rate will also allow a support coordination agency to build their infrastructure to provide a better, higher quality service to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
