CFPB Union NTEU 335 demands action after 1/6 attack

As a union member with CFPB Union NTEU 335, I know how important it is to participate actively in a democracy. It requires constant engagement from me and my coworkers. As legislators, you have sworn an oath to support and defend our Constitution, and our democracy. After the January 6 attack on the Capitol, our union needs you to fulfill your duties and take the following actions now: 1. Impeach & remove Trump from office immediately and without further delay. Trump incited an insurrection at the U.S. Capitol, is unfit for office, and is dangerous. Trump should not be permitted to remain in office even for another week, and he should never be permitted to hold elected office again. 2. Expel GOP legislators who instigated the violence. They are complicit in a coup attempt. They do not deserve to represent Americans in Congress and must be held accountable before they encourage the next attack. 3. Use the 14th Amendment to prohibit elected officials who instigated or participated in the attack from holding public office ever again. 4. Provide healthcare, counseling, and hazard pay to all Capitol workers including custodial, food service, and support staff. 5. Strengthen our democracy by making DC a state, abolishing the Electoral College, and ending voter suppression. We deserve elected representatives that represent the multicultural and multiracial majority of this country–not white supremacists.
