Fully fund Pennsylvania libraries

Fully Fund Pennsylvania Libraries I strongly support the reopening of the 2020-2021 budget to restore full funding for the public libraries of Pennsylvania. The current 5/12th appropriation equals a 58% reduction from the 2019 annual funding of the Delaware County Libraries. The result is a more than $1.48 million decrease in funding to the 26 county libraries.   This decrease in funding will have a severely negative impact on the services and programs that our community libraries provide to your constituents, me and my family included.   I use the resources of my public library to: ·       Access high-speed internet ·       Read books and magazines ·       Watch movies ·       Listen to audiobooks and music ·       Look for a job ·       Secure benefits ·       Enhance my professional skills ·       Work ·       Study ·       Foster learning with children’s programs ·       Engage in our community I am relying on you to our keep libraries funded as a resource for each of your constituents. I understand the immense funding challenges faced by the legislature this year, but believe funding for libraries is a critical element in the economic recovery and educational development across our District.   Thank you for your consideration,
