An open letter to the U.S. Senate Vote no on Barrett
11 so far! Let’s get to 25 signers! I'm strongly urging you to vote no on the nomination of Amy Coney Barrett to a lifetime appointment to the Supreme Court. Per the McConnell rule invoked months before a presidential election, there should be no consideration of a Supreme Court nominee until the people have their say in the selection of a president. Voting in this presidential election had already begun in several states when Barrett was nominated by President Trump, who has openly stated that he will not accept the results of the election if his opponent wins, and that he wants Barrett on the highest court to decide a contested election and to strike the final fatal blow to the ACA in the middle of pandemic that has already killed over 200,000 Americans. In addition to these reasons for not confirming Judge Barrett, she has only three years on the federal bench, and statements about her "impressive judicial record" are overblown when there are other, more qualified judges that could be nominated who have not made public statements about cases that will come before the Supreme Court within days after the election. Vote NO on Barrett.
