An open letter to the U.S. Senate

Ban assault weapons now

76 so far! Let’s get to 100 signers!

After the mass shootings in GA and CO this week, it is far past time to pass new gun control measures. Please start by leading the Senate to pass a nation-wide ban on assault weapons and a 48-hour registration waiting period. It is appalling that the gunman in Atlanta was able to pay his weapon the same day as his mass murder spree. If you can register to vote on the same day you cast your vote, you shouldn’t be able to register for a gun on the same day you get it. American gun culture will not change until our policy changes. Please, please use your office to lead gun control policy changes in the Senate.
