An open letter to State Governors (TX only) COVID Restriction Lift
36 so far! Let’s get to 50 signers! Governor Abbott,
Let me start by saying that I am extremely disappointed in your decision to end all COVID restrictions in the state of Texas. I know it's unpopular, I know it's controversial, but as a leader it's up to you set up our entire state for success.
I only ask for something reasonable: Allow the leadership of local government to decide what is best for their area when it comes to COVID restrictions. Texas is too large of a state for a blanket rule to accurately represent us all. I can see an argument against masks in smaller cities and counties, but to eliminate restrictions and hamstring larger areas such as Dallas from making their own decisions will only lead to needless sickness and death.
If you won't put COVID restrictions into place, then at least let local government decide what is best for them.
It's the least you can do. Work with local government, not against it.
