An open letter to the U.S. Senate Appointment of Amy Coney Barrett
19 so far! Let’s get to 25 signers! I would like to write to you concerning the appointment of Amy Coney Barrett for the Supreme Court. The biggest issue is that she was not truthful previously and it has been proven in the hearings over the last few days. The other issue is that it is quite clear that she has extreme beliefs and it will be impossible for her to not rule without judgement and without incorporating those beliefs. As a disabled person, the ACA is at risk and that includes pre-existing conditions and all of that needs to remain in tact. My final issue with this is that we are weeks away from an election and last time this happened, the appointment was held off until the election was over. People are already voting and their vote should matter in this decision. I would ask that we stay consistent with waiting until after the election, honoring RBG's final wishes and letting the people vote and let their voices speak to this nomination.
