Response to Wednesday siege of the Capitol

Like all truly patriotic Americans, I watched the siege of the U.S. Capitol in horror and sadness, but I was also angry. Angry at the videos of Capitol police opening the barricades and waving the angry mob into the building. Angry at the lack of arrests for the mob who sacked our Capitol. Angry at the smug smiles and joy they displayed on their social media posts. I demand that these people be held to account. These thugs and their law enforcement enablers need to be arrested immediately, prosecuted, and if found guilty, sentenced to the harshest punishments available. I also ask that you do not countenance any of the lies and misinformation already coming from your Republican colleagues about yesterday’s defilement of the Capitol. These feckless politicians are right now spreading lies that yesterday’s siege was perpetrated by “leftists.” This is patently untrue and needs an immediate response from you. We witnessed yesterday what happens when the constant stream of lies are not rebutted. The dangers are explicit and require your leadership. I ask for the courtesy of your response to this letter. Thank you.
