An open letter to the U.S. Congress Add VOCA Fix to the Omnibus Appropriations Act
33 so far! Let’s get to 50 signers! Victim-survivors of intimate partner abuse need you.
Desperately.
Those most vulnerable in your community and your local domestic violence program (like the Domestic Violence Intervention Program) depend on VOCA funding to operate.
We are in severe danger of being left out of the Omnibus!
The National Alliance to End Sexual Violence, The National Network to End Domestic Violence, along with many others are working tirelessly to get the Victims of Crime Act (VOCA) deposits fix language included in Omnibus Appropriations Act currently being negotiated. The VOCA deposits fix would direct funds from the Department of Justice deferred prosecutions and non-prosecution agreements into the Crime Victim Fund (CVF). Deposits to VOCA have decreased tremendously over the past several years, and the health of the fund is in grave jeopardy. We expect this "fix" to increase deposits and greatly improve the overall health of the CVF.
We need the #VOCAFix now! There's a #Crisis4Victims! We need the VOCA Fix in the Omnibus. There's a crisis for victims. We can't wait for help. This has broad bipartisan, bicameral support, but we need your voice to get it done.
