An open letter to the U.S. Congress Protecting Transgender Rights
418 so far! Let’s get to 500 signers! The transgender community is being threatened by President Trump’s rule reversal of the nondiscrimination protections laid out in Section 1557 of the Affordable Care Act.
Whether you support Trump’s rule or Obama’s rule concerning the clarification of that section, transgender people are human beings and should have the same rights and discrimination protections as non-transgender people.
We need to draft anti-discrimination legislation that protects the rights of the transgender community. The constitution says that everyone is equal, and our laws need to reflect that.
