An open letter to the U.S. Senate

Stop law-breaking and mask-rule-flouting by Senators

9 so far! Let’s get to 10 signers!

I've been shocked by the conduct of several senators recently. Dan Sullivan of Alaska refused to wear a mask on the floor. He is flouting senate rules and WHO recommendations, setting a terrible example and endangering the lives of colleagues and staff. Recently Lindsay Graham contacted Georgia SoS to urge the discarding of legal ballots-- his advice sounds like a state crime. No US citizen let alone the chair of the senate judiciary had any business attempting to interfere illegally in an election. If Graham cannot be trusted to respect state law, he cannot be trusted to preside over the judiciary committee. If you tolerate dangerous and lawless behaviour by your colleagues undermine the senate itself. And you erode public respect for our democratic institutions. I am expecting you to speak out and take action against your colleagues unacceptable and illegal conduct. If the much vaunted conventions of Senate collegiality mean that you give them a pass, then you too are complicit in the destruction of our democracy. I hope to receive a written reply from you assuring me that you believe that senators are not above the law.
