An open letter to the U.S. Congress

Unrest in Palestine

15 so far! Let’s get to 25 signers!

I am writing you in regards to the state sanctioned atrocities in the form of ethnic cleansing that are being committed against the Palestinian people by the state of Israel. The current situation that is unfolding has escalated quickly in just a few days after a legal case was lost by Palestinian families to defend against ILLEGAL theft of property in the interest of expanding Jewish settlements in to the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood. These acts of state sanctioned violence against the marginalized Palestinian people culminated in the audacious gassing of Al Aqsa mosque particularly during the last 3 days of Ramadan, a time of intense and peaceful religious workshop and heightened religious emotions . Recent air strikes by the Israeli Air Force has destroyed buildings and led to the death of at least 53 people, including 14 children, and more than 300 others have been wounded according to the Gaza health ministry. It is painful to know that the US supplies billions in aid to Israel yearly despite the international consensus that the state of Israel has committed multiple violations of international law and human rights. I want to believe that the United States is still a beacon of justice for all, please make it so. As a constituent, I urge you to take immediate action with all the powers that are vested in your political position to advocate for the plight of the Palestinian people. This has gone on far too long.
