Montanans support Representative Haaland for Interior Secretary

This week, it was an embarrassment to have 2/3 of our Congress members coming out with statements against the historic nomination of Representative Haaland to the Interior. First, Representative Rosendale needs to remember he has no place in this nomination process. The Senate does advise and consent. Then, Senator Daines threatened to put a hold on the nomination while again using the extreme rhetoric of calling Representative Haaland a "radical". What we know to be true is that oil and gas are among your top donors. Representative Haaland has pledged to turn the department into a champion of renewables along with policies to mitigate the threats of climate change. This is the true reason for your objections- she is an opponent of your top donors. Montana can lead on green energies with sustainable jobs. It is time to end the "boom/bust" cycle of Montana history and look to a brighter, healthier future. Your job is to listen to your constituents. As one, I fully support the nomination of Representative Deb Haaland and expect my Senators to support her nomination as well.
