Senators contesting the Electoral College

Two days ago, Senator Josh Hawley announced that he would contest the results of the Electoral College on January 6th. Now, eleven more have joined the ranks of those participating in this ridiculous challenge They are: Senators Cruz, Ron Johnson, Daines, Kennedy, Blackburn, and Braun, and Senators-elect Lummis, Marshall, Hagerty, and Tuberville. There is no basis for this challenge whatsoever. They all know it. And there is no chance it will succeed. But the conspiracy theories that have fueled this action have come out of the mouth of President Trump and his allies and have enabled and empowered dangerous and violent people who will be demonstrating in Washington DC on the same day. If there is violence, all twelve of these senators will be responsible, and this cannot be tolerated if our democracy is worth a damn. Accordingly, I implore you to support the expulsion of all seated Senators who have given legitimacy to this dangerous and seditious political grandstanding stunt, and the refusal to seat incoming Senators-elect who have signed on as well.
