An open letter to the U.S. Congress In response to the King Soopers mass shooting
13 so far! Let’s get to 25 signers! The Boulder King Soopers massacre was the seventh mass shooting in as any days in the US. We need meaningful gun control reform and we need it now. We are tired of seeing our friends, family, and community members murdered at grocery stores, movie theatres, schools...everyday places that are meant to be safe. Thoughts and prayers are not enough and have never been enough to protect us. We need meaningful legislation: universal background checks and allowing localities to enforce bans on assault-style weapons would be a good start. We the people have elected you to serve in our best interests. Please do your job and give us the piece of mind to shop, work, play, worship, and EXIST without fear of violence. Every time these tragedies happen, we say "no more." Please take these words to heart and take action to end gun violence.
