An open letter to the U.S. Senate The Violence Against Women Reauthorization Act (S. 2843) Needs Your Support!
17 so far! Let’s get to 25 signers! Survivors of sexual and domestic violence need support now. An estimated one out of every three women throughout the world will be beaten, coerced into sex, or otherwise abused in her lifetime. This must change. As your constituent, I ask you to support the Violence Against Women Reauthorization Act (S. 2843).
S. 2843 is a bill that ensures legal protection for women subject to violence and enforces prevention and education programming to prevent violence against women. It revitalizes and reauthorizes the Violence Against Women Act of 1994.
S. 2843 is the companion bill to H.R. 1585 which passed in the House of Representatives with strong bipartisan support. Now, S. 2843 needs your support to pass in the Senate. I urge you to help women and children by prioritizing safety and co-sponsoring S. 2843.
