An open letter to the U.S. Congress

Military sexual assault and harassment

66 so far! Let’s get to 100 signers!

Please demand a congressional investigation into military sexual assault and trauma, especially at Fort Hood Base. Recently, the tragic stories of Vanessa Guillen, Gregory Morales, and LaVena Johnson have been circulating on social media. I urge you to read through the hashtag #IamVanessaGuillen to get a picture of how pervasive military sexual assault and harassment are and have been. This is not unique to the current case or the current base—although, the specifics for Vanessa Guillen’s case at Fort Hood are gruesome. Action must be taken. Representative Speier and Senator Gillibrand have already signed on to a letter. Please join them in demanding a congressional investigation. Time’s up for military sexual assault and harassment.
