An open letter to the U.S. Congress

Stop the virus and hold Trump accountable for his damaging failures

32 so far! Let’s get to 50 signers!

The dangerous and inaccurate language emanating from Trump combined with his inexplicable and inexcusable delays in responding to the corona virus will cause thousands of deaths that could be avoided. I am aghast at the misleading statements that come out jn every White House briefing. The highest duty of a president is to look after the safety and survival of the people, and of our constitution. During this pandemic emergency Trump is causing greater danger every day by delays, incompetence and shocking disregard for life, health, safety, and survival. Please demand funds for postal voting. Please demand that Trump activate the Defense Production act by cosponsoring the bill to make him do so. Please call for an investigation of Trump’s botched response and eventually impeachment. Please demand that ICE now cease its activity and that people detained in ICE and private camps be released. Please cease to endanger yourselves by voting to allow congress to convene and vote remotely. Please wear masks in congress: by not doing so you are endangering yourselves and setting a terrible example. Please add your voice to the calls for social distancing as along as it is needed. (Collins, please stop condoning failed Trumpist policies as you did on the radio yesterday: failed policies now cause death.
