An open letter to the U.S. Congress Stimulus Bill Leaves Students Out to Dry
7 so far! Let’s get to 10 signers! I am an undergraduate college student, I am 23 years old, and I hold 4 jobs--3 of which, I just lost due to COVID19. I pay for my own student loans, expenses, and transportation. By not including young adults like me in the US stimulus package, you are not only neglecting an enormous and vulnerable population, you are turning a difficult situation into a deadly one, and hindering the return of a stable economy. By not including students like me in the bill, you shift that burden to parents like mine, who are already over-burdened, struggling economically due to COVID19 redundancies. This act especially burdens students and parents who usually hold jobs, but cannot work due to COVID19 redundancies, being immunocompromised, or disabled. This is a dangerous situation for your citizens to be in, and not the type of politics I elected my state leaders to engage in. Please take action NOW to rectify this wrong and save your state's students who are, by all accounts, the future of this state and nation.
