Support the Justice in Policing Act

408 so far! Let’s get to 500 signers!

The Justice in Policing Act has been proposed today. This act would change the parameters of qualified immunity for police officers and also establishes the National Police Misconduct Registry. This act is an important first step towards eliminating the scourge of systemic racism in our country. It's worth noting that you have not, as of this moment, made any public comment on the issue of systemic racism nor the numerous peaceful protests about systemic racism and police brutality unfolding throughout our country. There are, no doubt, excellent police officers who uphold their duty to protect and serve their communities. The Justice in Policing Act will empower these officers to continue doing their work reassured that officers who hurt people they are entrusted to help, harm public trust in police, and dishonor the badge will be held accountable. I urge you to support this legislation and to find the courage to speak out against systemic racism and police brutality.
