DOJ Attack on Our Cities

Bill Barr’s declaration of major American cities as “anarchist jurisdictions” is transparently fascist and a terrifying assault on democracy. Although today he is talking about withholding federal funds, it is obvious that this is the groundwork for trying to oust duly elected local governments — or even seize control of major cities by force. The Democrats must stop acting as though they expect the DOJ and Trump to follow the rule of law, denounce this attack at once, and prepare to meet naked threats to the upcoming election last seen in the pre-Civil Rights Movement Deep South.
